Christmas and New Year’s are the busiest weeks of the year for dog boarding in Montreal. If you are travelling, the earlier you plan your dog’s stay, the more choice you have. Here is everything you need to know about boarding your dog at Sam’s Lodge over the 2026 holidays.

01When to book for Christmas and New Year’s
The nights around Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve are always the first to fill up. Book as soon as you know your dates: you can reserve in your client portal in a minute, or call (514) 938-8899.
- New to Doggieville MTL? Create your client account and book the one-time $80 behaviour evaluation in November, so your dog is ready for the holidays
- Upload your dog’s vaccines: Bordetella (within 6 months), DA2PP and rabies, with the expiry dates visible
- Check that the vaccines will still be valid on the last night of the stay
- Dogs over 11 months must be spayed or neutered
02Holiday prices for 2026
From December 20 to January 15, a $20 per night fee is added to every room. Per dog, per night, before tax:
- Condominium, for small dogs: $90 (instead of $70)
- Suite: $110 (instead of $90)
- Deluxe Suite: $130 (instead of $110)
- Private Care Suite: $135 (instead of $115)

- 50+ cameras and motion sensors, and a team trained in pet first aid and CPR
- Photo updates while you are away
04What to pack
- Your dog’s food, in pre-portioned meals, plus 2 extra portions in case of travel delays
- Medication in pill pockets, with clear written instructions
- A collar with a name tag
- Your contact details and your vet’s, in your client profile
For stays of 6 nights or more, a departure bath at Chloe’s Spaw is required, with 10% off, so your dog comes home clean for the new year.
05Drop-off and pick-up around the holidays
Drop-off and pick-up times are different around Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Check the holiday hours when you book, or call (514) 938-8899, and plan your flights around them.
